Rob AppletonRob Appleton is a Senior Vice President at Dunhill Partners West (DPW). Mr. Appleton has joined DPW to provide over 30 years of experience in all phases of commercial real estate, concentrating on tenant representation, corporate leasing, real estate acquisitions, and asset management. In addition, as a LEED AP he can focus on sustainable commercial properties located in in-fill and emerging markets with value added potential for real estate acquisitions. His unique strength is his far-reaching perspective, arising from his broad experience as both a broker and a principal, on behalf of Tenants and Landlords. Because of this expertise, he manages transactions to the maximum benefit of his clients, understanding the objectives and sensitive's of both parties.

Brokerage: When he joined DPW in 2010, Mr. Appleton brought 14 years of experience with him in the San Francisco commercial brokerage marketplace, including senior positions at Green Property Solutions, CB Richard Ellis, Rubicon Group, Grubb & Ellis and GVAKM. He has represented major San Francisco office projects, including 101 California and 444 Market Street (now One Front Street) and 555 Montgomery Street, totaling over 2 million sq. ft.

Corporate Services: Mr. Appleton's 10 years of corporate real estate experience gives him a comprehensive understanding of the needs of corporate tenants of any size. He was previously Manager then Director of Real Estate for DHL Worldwide Express, with responsibility for all U.S. real estate (over 4 million square feet in 260 facilities, including offices and retail locations, warehouses, service centers, data centers, and airport operations facilities). In this capacity, he leased or renewed over 1 million square feet (lease value in excess of $64 million) and oversaw more than $24 million of construction in over 35 cities in North American and US Commonwealth countries. Later, he served as the Director Global Facilities for Circle International, with 367 office and warehouse facilities, and the Director of Corporate Facilities for Groundswell.Net, an Internet consultant company. Across these diverse companies, he managed all phases of the corporate facility process, selecting and retaining Architects, Real Estate Brokers, Project Managers, General Contractors, IT and System Furniture vendors. Negotiated leases and tenants improvement allowances, coordinated legal review and environmental due diligence, established budgets and construction schedules, approved project plans, and directed physical relocations. Awarded DHL Financial Merit for relocation of a 100,000 sq.ft. Data Center in Houston, TX for completing the project on time and under budget.

Landlord In-House: His perspectives and experience have been complimented by 6 years of working for major landlords in San Francisco. His responsibilities include coordinating space planning, managing new leases and renewal of tenants including working drawing and construction budgets to meet the numerous pension fund requirements. The portfolio of buildings includes the following projects in San Francisco and Marin. Tishman West; 71 Stevenson, 250 Montgomery and the Golden Bear Building in Berkeley. Compass/ Jones Lang LaSalle for the following locations One Bush, 595 Market, One Front, 303 Second Street, 225 Bush Street, 690 Market and Drakes Landing in Larkspur. A total 3.5 million sq.ft.

Education: Mr. Appleton received his Bachelor degree in Marketing from San Francisco State University in 1977. He also has taken 3 years of post-graduate courses in Corporate Real Estate at UCSF Extension, as well as working towards his Master of Corporate Real Estate for CoreNet.
