Bob Van Breda has been a professional in the commercial real estate industry specializing in office leasing, corporate relocations, facility planning, interior architecture and construction for over 45 years.

He studied architecture at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from California State University, Los Angeles. While completing his education he became a designer at the commercial interior architecture firm of KS Wilshire, Inc. During his seven-year tenure there he became Vice President, designing and managing projects such as the American Broadcasting Companies (50,000 s.f.); Mazda Motors of America (four national locations, 30,000 s.f. each); and International Creative Management (80,000 s.f.). In addition to his business career Bob was an instructor of commercial interior design at CSU, Los Angeles.

In 1978, Bob formed Van Breda Design Associates. As the owner and CEO of his own firm for 11 years, Bob was retained to direct and design projects for American Savings and Loan Association (65,000 s.f. office and five branches); Towers Perrin/TPF&C (30,000 s.f. and 45,000 s.f. in Los Angeles; 14,000 s.f. in San Francisco); the Law Firm of Hart and Hardy (17,000 s.f.); Crawford and Company Insurance (22,000 s.f.); T. Rowe Price (19,000 s.f.); and USA Cable Network (12,000 s.f. in Los Angeles; 18,000 s.f. in New York). His work has been published in Corporate Design and Realty, Facilities Design and Management, Interior Design, Designers West, Contract, The Designer and Computer Decisions.

In 1989, he relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area, becoming a partner in Pelham Development, where he completed the development of several commercial and residential real estate properties.

In 1992 Bob received his Real Estate license and put his experience to work for corporate tenants. At Dunhill Partners West, Bob’s diversified background allows him to better understand the parameters of office relocations and integrate prudent financial considerations in lease negotiations.
